This is the rarest E36 to date, an ultra-rare 1995 BMW M3 AC Schnitzer ACS3 CLS, number 7 of only 75 ever made, a combination of factory perfection and a motorsport genius in Schnitzer and it is a 320-horsepower lightweight screamer that already goes for more than 155000 and is currently bidding at Bring a Trailer. Having been turned into Schnitzer Motorsport origins by the Aachen tuners it loses 350 pounds through carbon-Kevlar panels whilst carrying cams, ITBs and Nurnberger pegged suspension. It has a 30,000-mile unblemished left hand drive import history of both England and Hong Kong, it closes at auction in December 19, it is the fever dream of E36 purists trying to find unobtanium.
Schnitze Lightweight Silhouette Magic
AC Schnitzer turned stock E36 M3s into CLS (Coupe Lightweight Silhouette) display cars, with carbon-Kevlar hoods, bumpers, boxed fenders, quarters, and lowers bolted on, savage aero -raised spoilers, splitters, pop-out windows, and a trunk-mounted spare Bridgestone. Silver paint shines in the CLS graphics and small bits of the finish wear the patina.
Drivetrain Fire and Tuned Inline-Six
The 3.0 liter S50 is the development of the 3.0 liter with Schnitzer sport cams, Motronic remap, carbon strut brace and dual-exit exhaust at 320 hp at 7, 000 rpm and 251 lb-ft at 3, 600 rpm, driven by individual throttle bodies to provide razor response. This five-speed manual drives a limited-slip diffusion, and the coilovers (25mm front drop) and sway bars, as well as rear perches, are adjustable to Nurburging accuracy. The microsuede Schnitzer wheel is fronted by Stack 8k-rpm tach of Group A racers.
Race-Bred Cabin for Three
Three-seat black microsuede (Recaro/Schnitzer stitching) fixed-back Recaro carbon-Kevlar seats replace rear bench with bulkhead; front trim, doors and panels are carbon-covered. Comforts are preserved with pioneer CD stereo, a dual-zone climate, power windows, alarm, aluminum pedals and drilled passenger rest. Checks confirm that #007 is 1995 in February; odometer reading 30k miles (covered 250 by dealer).
Provenance and BaT Momentum
Clean Montana title with paint meter readings, BMW glass etchings, tool kit. U.S.-imported after Hong Kong/England stint; six bids hit $155K by carvstr, no reserve fueling craze–six figures is the usual CLS price.

Why the Ultimate E36 M3?
Schnitzer CLS out-muscles stock 240-hp M3s with 80 added horses and 350-lb diet, homologating race components to pass in the street and reminisces 3.0 CSL glory. Less common than Evolution or lightweight GTs, it is factory-tuner hybrid that, without aftermarket on-the-job speculation, is ready to hit the track but driveable every day.
