How you should be sending every email in your business
We all send out 100’s of emails from our business every
week if not every day. Each one of these emails is a touch point with
your market be it direct or indirect.&...
We are constantly bombarded by phone solicitations, e-mails and social media promotion about what we need to do better with our digital marketing in order to generate new sales. Everyone is very busy focusing on marketing techniques that will drive traffic back to your website.
The problem is, if your website is poorly designed, fails to be aligned with your business branding and objectives or simply is inconsistent with your digital marketing, then you have wasted your money and more importantly, your valuable time.
In trying to keep things simple (because I am a simple person by nature) let me draw this analogy. Imagine you are selling your house. You listed it with photos in the local paper and have all your friends tell everyone what a great home you have and that it is on the market. Imagine if you will, how a prospective buyer reacts on doing an inspection only to find that your house has not been painted in the last 20 years, the single garage door does not have an automatic opener and your kitchen and bathroom are in original condition. No matter how much you love the house and how happy you are with it, prospective buyers are going to be hard to win over with your house in this condition.
It is much the same with your website. All that social media, those PPC Ads, Facebook promotions etc. have been developed to drive people back to your website. This is where the process of building trust, establishing a relationship with your customers really begins.
If your website is not mobile friendly then you already have created a problem for between 35% and is 50% or more of your site visitors are trying to view your site form their mobile device. They are likely to be unable to easily read your content and navigate their way through your site. You calls to action are not conducive for use on mobile devices. You have a huge problem.
If your website is not in line with the branding of your social media or your simply because your site is poorly branded, then you introduce an element of hesitancy and lack of faith within your visitors. You need to minimise any hurdles that can get in the way of them trusting you and believing you and your products or services to be credible.
Keeping your website up to date, keeping the designs fresh, professional and ensuring that the experience visitors have is one that is positive is very important. Unfortunately, this is too often overlooked or dismissed. Put two websites side by side for the same product and content, one modern well designed, the other not so. Which one attracts your attention? Which gives you a sense of greater faith?
Before you get caught up in the push to run the different marketing campaigns through social media or run your PPC Ads, be sure that you have your house in order. Be sure that your website is at its best.
